Recurring decimal to fraction

Do you have any idea that there is one very easy solution to convert a decimal number with recurring numbers to a fraction

• Take a number like 7.5678787878...
• As we can see, that 78 is repeating.
• So, take 9 for each repeating digit... 99 for our example.
• Take 0 for each non repeating number after the decimal point... 2 0's for 56 & append to the 9's considered.
• 9900 should go to the denominator.
• In the numerator, subtract the number made out of all the individual numbers which are not repeating from the complete number without the recurrence.
• (75678-756)/9900 is the solution...

Ad Man

Today I happened to see a different form of advertising.

4 young guys, almost dressed the same with a round necked white Tee & jeans, were each carrying a lengthy, thin & almost occupying more than their complete back, tube-light kind of glass box fully lit from inside. It had prominent picture & words just enough for all people walking & driving nearby to watch & read.

It sure, really grasped attention of everyone around!

Indian Idol

The way the singers are making their way through to the top in the Indian Idol contest in Sony TV is just inspiring. The singers & the judges as my wife puts it, have become part of our day to day talking & life.

I'm a good fan of Sreeram & his efforts have already started paying off with his duet in Telugu movie for Salim Sulaiman with Shreya Ghoshal is just cool.

Inception

Really 'Inception' movie is great to watch. Hats off to Nolan, for the thinking, direction & screenplay. Felt like watching Matrix.

Whenever some one joins MBA school, people are asked to think about small ideas, do some out of the box thinking so that the problem in hand can be solved properly.

• a toothpaste company, improved its profit by increasing the diameter of the nozzle.
• a liquid, sold in bottle container, price need to be increased. So, a company maintained the bottle size, the price, the quantity is reduced by putting some designer dents in the sides of the bottle which makes the quantity to be less. In fact, customers didn't crib but liked the new trendy bottle.

Take Charge

Unless you take charge, you'll never know if something is going to change or not. Don't get disheartened if that is not changing, but for sure your initiative has already have had its impact is what you need to realize.

It's good that one more gas station has got opened next my office itself. Very apt location because most of the IT traffic in the city now a days is going thru' this route.

It would be really great if one opens in Road #1 BHills too, without hindering the current flow of traffic.

But when it comes down to confidentiality of information that is being discussed, shared & let the whole world around you know, it is ofcourse bad & becomes more legal... Is that correct that we are influenced by the words or others... & We also give some words which we have had a choice on. I already wrote about SNIOP...When I was hearing one of the videos of Zig Ziggler, he said, whatever the world shows you, say 'Fantastic'.

Though you don't exactly feel like saying Fantastic, but given the situation you should rather think about the alternate best route rather than crib about what has happened. It is better we talk so enthusiastically that the world too reciprocates in the same manner...

I wonder how Time magazine did allow the article to be published. I just read the news article & the content seems to be really worse.

Keeping Good Health

May be I've written this already, but someone once again reminded me...

• Take 10 - 30 minutes walk everyday.
• Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. Take more of sprouts and salads.
• Drink plenty of water.
• Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
• Forget issues of the past. Don't remind yourself of mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
• Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control.
• Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
• Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
• Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
• Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
• What other people think of you is none of your business.
• However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

Drink Water

People do advice me often that I should drink lot of water. And they do tell about the problems we'll run into when we don't have enough intake of water. No one really gives hints on how to make it a practice. One of my friends did that too...

Drink ample amount of water everytime before & after you go to restroom.

Not a bad choice... Because drinking water is going to trigger the other.

So, drink more water, be healthy...

GG2 - My Book

Ohh... Its so bad & ridiculous.

Around 16 pages in the The Greatness Guide 2 book which I'm reading is completely not there, rather they are replaced with duplicate pages of some other chapters.

I just wonder how quality of any printing press is evaluated... Especially for such books & publications.

Books

It's so good that my organization has made quite some useful books online via some books 24X7. Ofcourse, there are lot of books to read, but some which I have been thinking of buying a hard copy are also available. Nice!

Expectations

But we know for sure that it is very hard to be like that & hard to ask our people around to be like that. All we can do it, talk over to reduce the expectations - a li'l bet of compromise, a li'l bet of collaboration... What say?

GMAT Tips

Well... I was hearing about GMAT from someone. Here are some tips he shared...

• GMATPrep is accurate in scoring
• PowerPrep is almost fairly accurate
• Don't rely on the scores of Princeton, Kaplan, Manhattan. They try to put everyone's score in a same range.
• Manhattan Verbal is a good one to do the questions - even couple of times is okay...
• First do Official Guide Diag Test with no timing in place so that you'll know how accurate in solving.
• Around 1 question may be from basic probability & statistics
• Around half of the question is from sentence correction.
• During preparation, around 90% improvements can be made only in SC as compared to that of RC or CR

Conflict

If you know conflict is goin' to happen, then try to be there to resolve it. We know sometimes conflict will be there & it'll get worsen to become something called poison tree.

But, if there is a conflict, let's put our mind, body, heart & soul to solve it & make it more fruitful in every manner. So, don't run away assuming something, better to face it & see what comes. Who knows things may be totally different than what you imagined?

Like in the movie Minority Report, the squad will stop a person from committing a crime & put them under arrest. But finally they make everyone realize that even in that emotional instinct, people will have some choice to make...

Atlast, we stand where we are because of all the choices which we have made in our lifetime. Accidents don't happen...
