Corporate

Mamta wants her government to work like corporate… Interesting! Way to go… Let’s see some growth, development & especially, results.

CSK

What an innings by Chennai Superkings…

But there was no Tamil Superstars who were shown during this innings in TV. Probably, there should be huge number of KWood stars out there in the crowd.

RTO

The best place to see corruption in India is any RTO office from Jammu to KK… Isn’t it? No wonder, Sankar selected the same for his corruption campaign in movie Hindustani/Indian. People just have aspirations/ambition to become a brake inspectorJ

Climate

What a cool & sweet climate was it in Hyderabad today morning…

Embarrassing

I was recollecting some of my life’s embarrassing moments – One was when a friend visited me at my UG hostel & the confusion that happened at that time between canteen & mess.

Wave?

Airtel’s logo for the new brand image symbol is Wave!

I don’t really feel that to be a deserving name…

Well, seems like Mamata may gain admiration from janta, by her way of working on things as CM. Well, she is ready to wait in traffic signal too.

Change in Indian IT Market

How Cognizant has been performing & consistently growing

While Cognizant deepened client engagements, Wipro saw an increase in customer churn and lost a few customers, and Infosys continued to focus on big accounts and neglected small clients. “Cognizant has been very aggressive on its sales and marketing efforts. Wipro and Infosys lagged behind in this area,” said Alok Shende, director and principal analyst, Ascentius Consulting.

So, at last, do we have a cure for HIV, for real?

Mission that reversed

Well, the charter flight was to save life of one 20 year old but ultimately it ended up in taking lives of 10 people, crash landing in Faridabad… What a pity!

Manhattan Review

The GMAT course work & the strategic approach done by “Manhattan Review” - in Hyderabad (not the same Manhattan who publishes GMAT books) is pretty good. Though I didn’t go thru’ the course, their timetable and the way they have organized the questions from the Official Guide & their course work for categorically executing the plan should definitely be acknowledged.

GMAT...

Recently, one of my friends was advising around … If you take GMAT, don’t plan for 700 because everyone wants that 700. Better plan for 710 & fight for the same.

Krittika

Well, thought Krittika’s case against NY is just ‘another’ one, but it seems it’s gaining heavy momentum & support!

Obviously, the issue is the guilty Chinese guy is let off, while she underwent the trauma…So, why not?

Hmmm… Someone asked me if I’m not blogging. I was wondering why such a question because almost on daily basis I do quite some blogs. Then, I was told that Facebook is not getting the same. Facebook, seems like it’s having the blog import problem…

One more Facebook spam that leads to account accessing & misusing!

Great Lakes!

I’m hearing quite a bit about Great Lakes in Chennai being a very good institute for MBA, after IIMs etc. How far is it true?

Visas

No wonder, I hear a lot of L1 visas getting rejected & people talking very strict in terms of the B1 Visa & its immigration regulations. Looks like it has started all because of the complaint against Infy! Interesting…

Heavy campus recruitments are planned for the coming year by all the IT majors but I never know till date that they even compete for the slot on day one

Dairy Milk

The latest “I love you” Dairy Milk ad inside the family is good!

1 in 1,000,000,000

The latest One in a Billion contest to select racers for Force India F1 championship is really something good & should be appreciated. Likewise, India should go for selecting the best from the nation, in all kind of sports & ensure India turns out to be best in sports too… In fact no one knows what Indian Sports ministry is doing…

India?

What is India coming to? Atrocious… Father-brother spoil daughter-sister!

IIT & IIM

The best thing is Jairam Ramesh himself is an IIT graduate… Even then, he just has directly criticized the profs of both the institutes that they are not world class…

Apology...

Unsure, how much does this delayed apology from LTTE on Rajiv’s killing matters to the public, but it would really instigate all kind of emotions from Gandhi people… Sad, sympathy, irritation, anger & what not…

Good day...

Another Socializing...

I’ve been part of LinkedIn for quite some time now but the latest cookie security hole in the same just makes me think again about using any socializing websites!

Who'll take responsibility?

So, it seems an air passenger passed away while landing, after landing, before descending – no one knows… Well, at the same time no one wants to take any responsibility of the same – The pilot who didn’t raise the correct flag on seriousness, Jet airways, the airport officials or the doctor who declared as the passenger as dead who allegedly came late.

Naval base...

Getting into the naval base of Pakistan & destroying some of the stuffs which US delivered just one year ago… Guess these have put enough added pressure on Pak on top of US’s Osama assault on their soil…

Saridon

Well… People use Saridon extensively but recently I heard from a doctor that there are duplicates in the market for Saridon & it’s better to avoid the same!

Endhukko

While driving around today with my daughter, FM radio started playing Endhukko emo.

My daughter somehow started liking towards the same & especially the “gaji gujika” words that come inbetween. And when she realized that the radio in the car is giving her a sweet surprise by playing the song which she likes a lot, she showed all kind of enough expressions with her eyes & mouth, to show all her happiness– shy, smile, excitement, surprise, joy n fun… Emotions that makes everyone around feel something good to enjoy!

Ever Cars

Well… If you are looking for buying or selling cars in Hyderabad, I would recommend Ever Cars – Who are really customer friendly, makes good deals, helps customers by going some extra miles, helps in making things final even there is NO business profit for them…

Deal...

When we are making business deal, better to negotiate as much as possible & finalize the deal right away – The biggest point to note here is, both the parties have somehow made their minds up, which is bound to change & so, don’t give that extra space or time for the people to think some more… What say?

May 20, 2011

Doctors...

Couple of days back, I happened to visit an eye doctor… After going, I realized that this doctor is pretty experienced & great in terms of having Abdul Khalam visiting him. I was feeling pretty good about me taking advice from him. He happened to prescribe me a medicine called Zymar.

Now, today I had to visit another hospital & I got to meet another eye doctor. This doc examined my eyes, took details of my medications & advised me not to use Zymar saying that it has been banned. I just couldn’t believe my ears. When enquired about the same to a pharmacist, he too confirmed the same… And the same is confirmed in Wiki too.

Just am wondering, because the ban has been made on Mar 18th 2011 & the way the doctor & the pharmacist are keeping themselves updated with the latest details of drug ban or so…

Red FM

Red FM channel is doing pretty good when compared to many other channels like Big FM, Radio Mirchi & couple of other ones… It’s basically the RJs who make the difference.

Literacy...

Today, a guy knocked my door & it was none other than a boy from a very small cloth ironing shop just opposite my house. He had come to deliver couple of ironed cloths. Well, after getting the cloth, like my regular practice, I said ‘Thanks’! (But usually in India, I don’t get to see anyone say thanks to anyone who does service, especially for all these small shop people or auto driver or so… )

I was taken by surprise when the boy probably of age 12, reverted back ‘Welcome’… Couple of things – The boy from that small iron shop is studying English, also manners & implementing the same on day to day life… Great!

Sony's Ex-CEO

Today, I came to know about Sony’s ex-CEO Norio Ohga who designed CD’s physical size & memory size – Especially to hold 75 minutes worth of music, targeted for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony… A music fanatic. Well, he passed away last month.

Dramatic...

Yesterday night was a bit dramatic, pretty close to my house.

Usually there are these border security force team – Green color, blue color - roaming around my house, because of Akbar still being admitted in Care hospital. Yesterday, in the late night, probably a team of 10 people were going around. Suddenly they started running & some of them kind of took positions with their guns to shoot too. It was so unique & different – It was like as if they are behind someone who has done the Mumbai 26-11 attack…

Anyways, seemed like they caught a thief.

Ko

Rangam (I mean Ko) is definitely a good watch. Worth the money. Jeeva is really good & very much matured.

Couple of years back, when movie ‘E’ got released, Jeeva had come to Hyderabad to promote the Telugu version of the same. He was in fact roaming around in City Center Mall all alone & being a weeknight there were in fact not much heads around. I couldn’t even recognize him while my wife was quite confident. So, we stopped by him, did converse for few minutes & he was pretty cool.

Good day...

Suicide - Which I Saw...

It was my 1st year engineering hostel - 14 days after my college had started… When I came back to my room after my lunch, I could hear people shouting from the window-door of my next room trying to wake up one of my new college hostelite – the door obviously locked from inside & the guy sleeping on the cot. Well, people were shouting “kumbakarna…” etc… The hostel watchman came & after seeing from the netted grill above the door, took care of switching off the electric main, because he could see some wires around that guy. We somehow opened the door & I was the first to go inside. We could all smell the burnt odor. No idea what to do. I just went near the guy, tried to wake him up but realized that his face is almost sunk in the pillow he was sleeping which would not allow him to breathe enough.

What I saw is, this guy has put the power plug on his cot, plugged wires into the slots, took off all the insulation around the wires & wound the same enough around his body & switched on the power! Wherever his body is wound by wire, it had turned dark & brunt.

What a nasty way to go for it… Need definitely enough strength to go for such a daring act…

CTC - Orange Systems

There is one shop called “Orange Systems” in the CTC, Secunderabad. Very reliable & customer friendly. My recommendation to go there, if your system has some issues.

Thirsty...

Definitely… Coconut water, sugarcane juice, buttermilk (especially the jeera one) or a simple ice gola definitely does the magic – Both for taste & thirst.

Fanatics...

Just because DMK lost in politics, one guys seemingly has committed suicide by setting himself off in fire.

Things to be taught

Here are good manners that need to be taught to the kids.

TN Politics

TN political scenario every time defines its own rules. The people of TN always show a thumping & well defined result… The election is always like a one sided game & a Tsunami white wash for DMK or AIADMK.

This time, people definitely don’t want the family based, corruption based DMK rule. They just have defined the motto clearly. The not so good but the only alternate is to go for AIADMK…

Vadivelu?

So, what’s up with Vadivelu – The primary campaigner for DMK?

“Siru pillai thanamaala irukku… Hayyo Hayyo… Enna vechu comedy keemady yaarum pannalaye? Naan chummanula sollitrinthen… Nijamnu ninachittaangalo?”

Japanese

Japanese boy teaches lesson in sacrifice
EDITOR'S note:

THIS letter, written by Vietnamese immigrant Ha Minh Thanh working in Fukushima as a policeman to a friend in Vietnam, was posted on New America Media on March 19. It is a testimonial to the strength of the Japanese spirit, and an interesting slice of life near the epicenter of Japan's crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. It was translated by NAM editor Andrew Lam, author of "East Eats West: Writing in Two Hemispheres." Shanghai Daily condensed it.

Brother,

How are you and your family? These last few days, everything was in chaos. When I close my eyes, I see dead bodies. When I open my eyes, I also see dead bodies.

Each one of us must work 20 hours a day, yet I wish there were 48 hours in the day, so that we could continue helping and rescuing folks.

We are without water and electricity, and food rations are near zero. We barely manage to move refugees before there are new orders to move them elsewhere.

I am currently in Fukushima, about 25 kilometers away from the nuclear power plant. I have so much to tell you that if I could write it all down, it would surely turn into a novel about human relationships and behaviors during times of crisis.

People here remain calm - their sense of dignity and proper behavior are very good - so things aren't as bad as they could be. But given another week, I can't guarantee that things won't get to a point where we can no longer provide proper protection and order.

They are humans after all, and when hunger and thirst override dignity, well, they will do whatever they have to do. The government is trying to provide supplies by air, bringing in food and medicine, but it's like dropping a little salt into the ocean.

Brother, there was a really moving incident. It involves a little Japanese boy who taught an adult like me a lesson on how to behave like a human being.

Last night, I was sent to a little grammar school to help a charity organization distribute food to the refugees. It was a long line that snaked this way and that and I saw a little boy around 9 years old. He was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of shorts.

It was getting very cold and the boy was at the very end of the line. I was worried that by the time his turn came there wouldn't be any food left. So I spoke to him. He said he was at school when the earthquake happened. His father worked nearby and was driving to the school. The boy was on the third floor balcony when he saw the tsunami sweep his father's car away.

I asked him about his mother. He said his house is right by the beach and that his mother and little sister probably didn't make it. He turned his head and wiped his tears when I asked about his relatives.

The boy was shivering so I took off my police jacket and put it on him. That's when my bag of food ration fell out. I picked it up and gave it to him. "When it comes to your turn, they might run out of food. So here's my portion. I already ate. Why don't you eat it?"

The boy took my food and bowed. I thought he would eat it right away, but he didn't. He took the bag of food, went up to where the line ended and put it where all the food was waiting to be distributed.

I was shocked. I asked him why he didn't eat it and instead added it to the food pile. He answered: "Because I see a lot more people hungrier than I am. If I put it there, then they will distribute the food equally."

When I heard that I turned away so that people wouldn't see me cry.

A society that can produce a 9-year-old who understands the concept of sacrifice for the greater good must be a great society, a great people.

Well, a few lines to send you and your family my warm wishes. The hours of my shift have begun again.

Ha Minh Thanh

Indian Traffic Police

Daily when I drive, I’ll have my handsfree-headset for my mobile. Yesterday I had to stop my vehicle 3-4 times to take care of different things & then, I made a choice to not have my handsfree – Wrong choice. Just 2 mins after I started driving, I got a call, attended & immediately within 10 secs there is a police stopping me. Bad luck.

Now this guy is like giving all kind of reasons & telling legally this should be Rs 500 fine… But he’ll make a receipt for Rs300… What negotiation I got to make with him? Ultimately he just asks me what I want to do because he doesn’t really want to do anything legal & all he wants is to make petty money.

FB Security

Well, I don’t know much about FaceBook as I’m very new to the same. Also, I log into it very less too.

But today when I tried to login, the site in fact showed me some security caution & said someone tried to access my login…

It did a series of checks on me

-          Retype the characters that are read

-          Show 3 random photos of one single person, tag him/her in all the 3 photos & ask me to identify my friend, from the name list of 5 friends –Match photos to person. Repeat this for 5 people.

-          Then, the system told me that someone in exact latitude/longitude with place name in Great Britain tried to access my account at so & so time & asked me to acknowledge the same…

-          Atlast asked me change the password.

Seemed like a really fool proof way to establish that the right owner, in fact accesses the account!

But, who in this whole world would like to see my FB accountJ? Hackers handprints…hmmm

So, mostly, when I’m in meeting, my alarm starts ringing (I don’t know why Alarm alone rings even when the mobile is kept on Silent mode). And the alarm tone is nothing but a repeated “I Love You” voice of my daughter. The words with the kiddish way of saying, voice & tone all combined together sounds like “I laalu”…

It just grabs everyone’s attention & makes them all smile/feel good every time they hear.

An Old Man & His Life

When I was there for my daughter’s swimming pool class, I got to meet an old man, probably at his 60’s, who is in fact my daughter’s best friend/guide/coach/trainer. He is healthy (well, obvious as he is swimming trainer) & his look with long white beard very clearly indicates that he is a Muslim.

He just introduced himself & don’t know why, he immediately started telling me on what he is upto in his life. He wanted to help everyone around him & do good things. That is the reason why he is there in the swimming pool as a coach.

He also handed over a business card & said, that he is trying to help that small business grow. it seems the owner, who was quite young at his 35, passed away last year & his sons/daughters are making their daily bread & butter out of this business. I felt touched!

And I remembered all those physically/mentally handicapped kids (& my friends) in Amar Seva Sangam

To animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my

Favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
Things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
Prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
Talk to, and I learned to trust in Him..

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
Meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
Learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
Of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
To take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
Handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
Feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
Responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
From your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
Hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
Wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when
You thought I wasn't looking.'

For internet browsing & video streaming, GPRS is more than sufficient. Ain’t it? In fact I could see the videos without any kind of buffering in GPRS itself.

Indian Flag

In front of Care Hospital, there were so many people shouting “Akbar, Zindabad”. They were all waving their party flag.

When I was crossing the crowd with my daughter, she started shouting “India! India!”… I know that she had seen such “India” shouting when India was playing in World Cup cricket but unsure why she started shouting then. I still thought that my daughter started shouting India just because many people around are also shouting.

When I asked her, she said “I saw Indian Flag & so, I wanted to Shout India”… I was silenced.

What is Faith?

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem
science has with God, The Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and.....

Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.

Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.

Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't.
How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?
Student: No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student: From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student: Yes.

Prof:So who created evil ? (Student does not answer.)

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these
terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them? (Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe
the world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?
Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?
Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student: No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science
says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof: Yes.

Student: No sir. There isn't. (The lecture theatre becomes very quiet
with this turn of events.)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat,
mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat.
But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below
zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as cold . Cold is only a word we use to
describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy .
Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it . (There
is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre..)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of
something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have
nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness
isn't. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't
you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue
there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You
are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can
measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses
electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully
understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be
ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.
Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it..
Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved
from a monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes,
of course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize
where the argument is going.)
Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at
work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor,
are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a
preacher? (The class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's
brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable,
demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir.
With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face
unfathomable.)

Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student: That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH . That
is all that keeps things moving & alive.

This is based on a true story, and the
student was none other than.........

APJ Abdul Kalam, the former president of India.

Why Cry Over Past?

A wise man once sat in the audience & cracked a joke.
All laughed like crazy. After a moment he cracked the same joke again and a little less people laughed this time.
He cracked the same joke again & again, When there was no laughter in the crowd, he smiled and said

"When u can't laugh on the same joke again & again, then why do u keep crying over the same thing over and over again.

AIEEE

I think the students who had to take the AIEEE exams in the evening timeframe (because of the paper leak & rescheduling of exams) yesterday in Hyderabad had much for agony, as there was rainfall because of which power was not there in many of the exam centers….

Unorthodox?

Yesterday’s DC’s Sunny Sohal’s innings against CSK was more like errors & still he scored the fastest 50. If luck is something that definitely plays a part in T20 matches, then this innings is a proof. Isn’t it? Fall down & hit a four, get all kind of fours without knowing what that shot is going to do, trying all kind of switch shots & not working out… & finally a hit wicket!

Atlast... Osama

After nearly 10 years of 2001, we have something coming officially that Osama is dead. Better be true…

Police & Media near Care Hospital

I was crossing Care Hospital & there is a huge battalion of police force & media people… Almost all Telugu channels were there & huge traffic, cars, what not… Heights of it is the Border Security Force. I was wondering which politician has got admitted. Well, its movie actor Balakrishna! Why so much hype?

Correction - Its MIM Leader Akbar Owaisi... That's why so much of hype.

Anyways, Care hospital – Is that the best? Even I had been there, but didn’t find it impressive, rather expensive. They in fact find ways to make money.

Dorjee..

So, is Dorjee Khandu yet another case like YSR?
