HCL - Out of the box
HCL one of the IT outsourcing companies from India is recently being talked about a lot - not for how the company is performing in market but - for the management's approach towards employees. This article in Business Week throws some light on the same.
So, do we get to see our seniors' ranking at any point of time? Will there be a day when the management says 'Employees first! Customers second'. I doubt that!
Also, the brief detail about Nayar is quite encouraing...
"Tall and forthright, Nayar, 45, didn't arrive at the top of HCL Technologies easily. Plunged into poverty in his teens after his father's death, Nayar and his two brothers took turns working, so the brothers not working could study. After seven years as an engineer at HCL, he was tapped to run an internal startup, where he tested out some of his ideas. Nayar can be something of a management iconoclast, unafraid of making provocative statements."
