The number game worked. Italy winning the FIFA World Cup 2006 yet again.
Here are the statistics and people did the simple math - Italy enters the FIFA Finals every 12 years from 1970. They'll win the alternate ones. 1970 & 1994 are losing games. 1982 and yes, they won this one.
But the talk sure will be on Zidane's... His classic chip penalty goal kick with confidence and a person of that class walking away in his retirement game from French Soccer team with a red card for a mindless 'head punch'!

before that head punch, i thought zizou wud be the player of the tournament, but now, due to that rude gesture, Fabio Cannavaro shud be awarded the player of the tournament. There is none other player who has played as well. Klose being the top scorer, but still his game couldn't match cannavaro's excellent vision and clearance. He is the key man behing Italy's victory and i say he shud be give this award.
R v anticipating some controversy 'coz v know the referees acted against the rulez. none of the referees visually saw Zidane's act and declared Red with the stadium screen replay!
no, there can't be any controversy. The French coach didn't complain about this incident at the presentation. Coaches are the first ones to fight if anything goes wrong or even if nothing is wrong. This means that the French dun wanna complain.
