Woes...2 More Years...
There are lots of things to think about as best in North America. For me, it is the infrastucture that amazes me - The road system (Like five flyovers are built one over the other in Dallas, Tx) and the way all the freeways are connected to each other! No wonder, the MapQuest & Yahoo maps works:)!
And still, the best thing today is how they are repaired and extended! Though there may be some issues for the near by commuters, the builders really try to make things easy for them! Not like in India! I know, India doesn't even stand close to America in infrastructure and can't be compared. But just imagine the plight of all the IT workers in India Silicon Valley - Bangalore, for the next 2 years!
Prime Minister Dr. Singh is approving Rs.450 crore for a Bangalore flyover project! The details read as
"...The 10 km elevated "Hi-tech" flyover to Electronics City, the IT hub on the city's outskirts, will be the first of its kind in the country. The four-lane flyover will be Bangalore's highest flyover at a dizzying 17 metres (56 feet) from the ground...."Though this can be a great initiative, the day to day office commuters for the next 24 months to the Hi-Tech park will have really the toughest commute! Already there is too much of hue & cry... Now, add some more.

hey jags, india has been making steady progress in infrastructure. The infrastructure has improved in the past years. in another 10 years, India wud be able to match US(i am too optimistic). when we have talented IT engineers like Vasanth, i am sure India will soon be the best.
forget it....Banglore would never become Dallas..
just see..the roads are as wide as an ipod shuffle is...
and u construct a flyover over it....
just see how much space that construction process would take...
that would mean demolishing the buildings right next to the roads..!!
and speaking of american infrastructure....see Boston's flyovers...they look so ugly..!!
hope the "Big Dig" renovation project is successful..!!
and bangalore... out of the 450 Cr...just see how much os spent on flyovers..!!
