Deal Show Math, Any Idea?

Does anyone have the solution before the banker or Howie calls the number? If that is the case, I would love to have the math behind it.

Hmmm. You sure know what I'm talking about if you are kind of enjoying the show - Deal or No Deal. I know this comes in CNBC, but not sure about the timing. Just another show to give away a million dollar!

This show is more to do with the luck of the person who is playing. Well, I don't care how it is played. But, I'm really interested in knowing how the "Banker" is coming up the numbers. It's all pure math behind - More to do with probability (& probably, some Stats!). I really would like to know what weightage & factors are considered in this math. I tried crunching some numbers but didn't go till the end. Just want to take some effortless route!

Do you have it? Or, is it there somewhere online? Let me know!

hey Jags, trust me, this "deal or no deal" is the worst show ever. It started just a few months ago, yet 3 hosts of this gameshow have been changed coz it was going a super flop. The banker is a man in their studio who calls and gives an offer to the player based on some weird calculations i.e he sees how much amount can still be won by the player and offers some amount, which he thinks can tempt the player to leave the game and be satisfied with the offer. but as the show has to pull on and be on tv for a full hour, the player seldom accepts the offer. this show looks clearly fake. that is a major reason for this show's failure. audiences can't be so easily duped these days, you know. And Jags, just an advice at the end, plz never watch "deal or no deal". there is absolutely no math behind the banker's offer.

Ohh! Is that the case in India? Probably, Indians r more smarter than Americans - I guess i should conclude like that based on ur comments, coz the show is a big hit in US. I know that professors in universities have started writing papers based on this show!

Btw dude, without math, there can be no gain for the show runner. They can't come up with some fake numbers as an offer. Jzz think about the ROI.

Also,if u watch the show, they will show only those candidates who have had enough suspense for long time. Thzz how they r making the show interesting for the audience. The game is available online too in NBC site. Jzz try it and who knows, you may come up with some coinciding math!
