An 'Ajax' Makeup!

Its been 2 years I guess, since the first time I saw the old face of Yahoo! It desperately needed some change and today is the day - It atlast showed some... hmm, rather many differences!

The prominent features - The more importance given for the search text box! The page is kind of clean, light, & bright - More Cool! And I guess they have really considered people's preferences for bigger screen sizes - The page is more filling for a 17 inch screen!

Well, for the more personalized pages! The new make up kit Ajax has done the magic - made its way all the way from the Beta Maps pages to the Home Page - The easy review of weather, mails, local traffic, friends online just on a single click... oops, no clicks - Just hover over! Equally well done is the enlarged texts in the left side of those user's preferred features - grabs attention!

Is this changeover needed? Guess so! Just to compete with Google, MSN, AOL & all the social networking sites like MySpace! Here goes some stats for April 06 (Unique US vistors):

Yahoo - 105.4 million
MSN - 92.8 million
Google - 92.1 Million
AOL - 70.4 million
