Players Play...

Just wondering why to blame Chappell alone when the experienced Indian cricketers are also supposed to be playing the game? Why a single person has to be blamed, for the major debacles of the Indian cricket team against the South Africans?

Cricket is not a game like NFLs or NBAs where each and every move by the players is pre-determined by a coach. At the same time, should Greg Chappell take moral responsibility and step down?

Well, he sure has enough guts to make statements on Indian MPs:)

Chappel is not to be blamed at all. No coach can make the Indian team win. Its all the board's and players' fault. BCCI kept the players from playing in duleep trophy before the series as they were to do a nike add. The lack of practice is clearly showing.

Greg has to be blamed for his BAD coaching. Agreed, team in blue consist of more or less experienced players but still coach has the duty to imparts some skills 'n techniques to them. Coach is paid for that only. If team doesn't perform well , then whole management has to be blamed including GREG .

And its the captain 'n coach of a particular side that decides the team for a particular match ( I'm not talking about series, just a match of any series ). So why did Sehwag 'n Greg choose Dinesh Kartik instead of Suresh Raina or VVS Laxman ?

Solution that I suggest :
1. Bring in Ganguly.
2. Give a dose to Greg or kick him out.
3. And for god sake, prepare some better pitches in India with some bounce so that our players don't get panic aboard.

Coach's duty is to provide strategy to team. Greg has tried all kinds of strategies but none worked. He is experimenting till date! but we are not even close to satisfactory results. Kicking Greg out would worsen the situation. India might not get an international coach after this.
I think bringing in Karthik was an extremely wise decision. he's been performing well in Ranji and Duleep trophy while Raina has been a complete failure in past 15 innings. VVS Laxman is more a test player and his duck today compells me to doubt even that.

Thats what I said. Coach's duty is to provide stratergy , but he has been giving IDIOTIC stratergies till now. Can you state any three sensible experiments that he has performed ?
Dinesh Kartik is still a kid. As you have said that you saw the last match of the series, then you should saw his fear while he was facing Andre Nel. He was like a lad in a street playing French Cricket. His shorts were totally kiddish. He tried to hit a six or four, whatever, over the head of keeper. These kinda shorts are played by batsmen of lower order.
VVS Laxman is still a good player. Even good players like Ponting 'n Kallis get out on zero. Even more , the first ball he played was superb. There is no doubt in that.

In all, India need improvement in all fields whether it is batting , bowling or fielding.

I suggest bowlers like Balaji, Powar, Nehra should be given an another chance. Powar has been impressive in all the matches he played since his debut.

You say that Greg hasn't made "sensible" experiments! I say he has made all "possible" experiments. I know that even good players get out at zero but they can never match VVS Laxman's bad performances. they can't even compete him.
When senior players don't perform, you gotta look down upon youngsters. Inida has mostly big names but they hardly play good now.
I completely agree that Powar should be brought in. I think he is the best bowler India has. He's been awesomely impressive.
