Home Hero - Start to End!

If at all there was a strategy for Schumi & Ferrari to come ahead of Alonso & Renault today at the Spanish Grand Prix, then I guess, they failed to execute. Rather, lets put it like this. Alonso never gave a chance for the Ferraris to even think about winning the F1. It's a champion's race and a champion, wanting to prove in front of his home crowd of 131000.

Schumi did execute his strategy of winning over positions at pit stops. Especially when he took the lead over Fisichella, after the former's 1st pit stop. That is something good. Renault was relying on Fisichella for the pressure on Schumi and they failed there, because Fisichella lost like 6 secs by going off the track. So, pressure from Fisichella(Renault) over Schumi(Ferrari) weakened and Schumi could easily think about going ahead of Alonso. But, Schumi never had a chance to put atleast some pressure on Alonso the whole 66 laps - Trailing by 10 seconds after first 6 laps & continuously trailing by .4 Seconds every lap. And at the end losing by 20 secs.

A Race where engine power & the speed of Renault spoke & ofcourse, the hands-legs of Alonso danced (His celebrations) - Back on track after trailing in the 2nd place behind Schumi for the last 2 races!

Well done Alonso. But I am glad Ferrari were not too far back. Remember last year Kimi beat Alonso by 30 seconds. It is a track which all the teams think they know very well but the setup is very crucial and the track exposes bad setup. Alonso was way faster than his teammate! Anyway I think Ferrari are strong enough to give Renault a tough fight. :-)
